Trail:  From the 29th Street trailhead, follow the grail heading up the hillside to the east with signs pointing to the Taylor Canyon South Trail.  At .2 miles after reaching the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, take a sharp right and continue south along the wide trail.  This portion is often shadeless and hot in summer months.  At .5 miles, the path turns east into Waterfall Canyon and begins steep ascent  of the northern slope of Malans Peak.  You can hike on either side of the river, there are a few bridges along the way.  Both stay within 5 to 10 feet of the creek.  After crossing bridges the trail become more rocky and more difficult.  Use slow easy steps.  At this point the waterfall appears.
